Why Not Knit?

there's no such thing as too much knitting...

Gee, ain't it funny...

...how time slips away.
I have been spending all of my computer time reading all the other knitting blogs out there, so I've not made time to post to my own. I love to just sit at my computer reading knitting blogs till my eyes cross. Usually little doggie drags me away before any actual crossing occurs, so my eyes have been relatively safe so far.
As far as knitting content goes, I have been knitting. Almost every day even. The scarf grows in length, the baby booties need one little thing to finish a pair, and the cardigan still languishes somewhere in the spare room. And I still have no idea where the pattern is. I guess I fell out of love with it when I realized the thing more than likely will not fit me. Now it's been so long, I lost the mojo.
I just started knitting a little baby kimono, pattern from the 2006 pattern a day calendar. My very dear friend Lizz is having a baby! Yeah!! She's due in October, so I'll get to knit lots of warm things for baby. I've never actually knit for a baby before, other than the blanket I knit for Riley. That was a little slice of hell, let me tell you. I used Sirdar Snowflake, my first time with such a yarn. What a little bitch it was. But she loves her blankie, so it was all worth it. I really hope the little kimono sweater turns out nicely. My gauge is off just a bit, but I decided I'm not gonna worry about it. (Did you see that Chickens? I'm not gonna worry about gauge!)
That's really it for actual knitting.
My Dana friend got me hooked on eBay, finally. She's been trying for awhile. I'm hosed. I'll spend all of my allowance there, and I'll never get to buy yarn again. Pray for me.

Ok, well, it's time to go check in with all the other bloggers out there. Plus I have to see if my eBay bid won. Fingers have been crossed!

Goodnight~

so long

I didn't mean to be gone so long from posting. I guess I got all caught up in the 'Lympics and lost track of time.
And then there was a knitting retreat to go to.
The first time I went to a knitting retreat I was embarassed to tell anyone what I was doing. I really had no idea how it would be. Then, I went, and had the best time ever.
Same thing this time.
I've made lots of good friends through this retreat, more than I could have ever hoped for. I even get to meet with some of them throughout the year, for knitting and visiting. Some others I just wish I got to see more often. We had lots of new people join us this time, and it was great.
I already can't wait for the next retreat in September.

As far as actual knitting goes, I have a pair of baby booties from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. And I started a MultiDirectional Diagonal Scarf at the retreat. No work has been done on my cardigan for so long that I don't remember where the pattern is.
Finding it will have to wait till I get some semblance of order restored to my house...I watched the 'Lympics way too much and cleaned way too little. Actually, I cleaned not at all, but didn't want to write that.
Now look what I just wrote!

My beloved and I watched a movie together tonight~Saw. Yes, that's the name of the movie. Very good, although people I know won't be able to believe I watched a scary movie. It wasn't so much of a scary movie as it was a movie that was scary. (yes, that makes sense to me) I meant that it was a good movie, and was frightening, but I do think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Beloved also got Saw 2, so you know what I'll be watching next. I hope it picks up where the first one left off, husband and I are curious about the Dr. and Adam ...

Well, that's it for now. Time to go get ready for bed. Didn't get much sleep at the retreat, and am making up for it tonight. Hopefully, anyway. Fingers are crossed that I won't have bad, scary, Saw dreams.

Goodnight!
